My name is Lawrence, or Larry. I have a lifelong background in residential construction, starting from an early age helping friends and family. I hold a BS in Industrial Technology, which provided foundational knowledge in industrial processes for efficiency and manufacturing. I later spent eight years in aerospace design with Sikorsky Aerospace, advancing from drafting to 3D modeling and production systems. Following this, I dedicated seven years to the international trade department, integrating my technical design skills with the complexities of international law.
Seeking a new direction, I founded Basil Brook LLC, named after my grandfather, Basil, who taught me a great deal about home
maintenance and nature. My goal was to fill a significant gap I noticed in the market: a lack of empathetic, qualified professionals for small-to-medium residential jobs. The greatest reward of my work is meeting clients, resolving their home issues, and seeing the immediate relief and comfort on their faces. I believe everyone should feel safe and comfortable in their home. As an active member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I am particularly dedicated to providing a trustworthy and positive experience, addressing the heartbreaking lack of representation and past negative interactions in the construction field.
My diverse professional and personal experience offers a comprehensive skill set for any project. My own three-family house required a massive gut renovation, during which we partnered with the local technical school to provide experience on plumbing and electrical systems. My family and I completed all the prep work and finishing, including structural repairs, wall finishing, new installations, and refinishing 100-year-old trim and floors—a full-scope renovation. Innovation is key to my process; I integrate ecologically friendly techniques like low- to zero-VOC paints and the use of natural, repairable materials to lower the repair burden and carbon footprint while delivering a healthier product. I bring this extensive experience and commitment to your home to help restore peace of mind.
